Our Process
Mat-Washing Services
Clean, disinfected mats are vital for environmental sustainability and land protection. They prevent contaminant transfer, minimizing any disturbances. Our portable Matador unit, with its built-in disinfecting chamber and water recycling system, ensures effective cleaning and resource conservation.
Access Mat Cleaning Procedure
NMB’s access mat cleaning involves three stages: mechanical cleaning, wet cleaning, and wet cleaning with sanitization.
Stage 1: Mechanical Cleaning
Mechanical cleaning is the physical removal of excess debris from the mats. This is done using tools like blades, brushes, or brooms. If necessary, mats are flipped to release soil and organic debris from the grooves. Cleaned mats are then stacked.
Stage 2: Wet Cleaning
Wet cleaning uses high-pressure, high-volume, or a combination of both to effectively remove stubborn organic matter and dirt from the mats. This stage involves methods such as wand washing with steam, pressure trucks, or the use of “The Matador,” our portable mat washing unit.
Stage 3: Wet Cleaning with Sanitization
Following wet cleaning, access mats undergo sanitization. All mats requiring sanitization are misted with an active disinfectant and reapplied as needed to ensure the mats remain wet with the solution for the required 20-minute contact time. Sanitization can be done through hand pump application or by passing mats through the Matador’s sanitizing chamber. A 2% sodium hypochlorite solution is commonly used for disinfection, but other disinfectants are suitable.
