Mat Repair and Disposal
Eco-Friendly Mat Repair and Disposal
With over two decades of experience, we excel in mobilizing, demobilizing, sorting, washing, grading, and managing every aspect of an access mat’s life cycle. Our expertise includes proficiently repairing mats, replacing damaged or worn-out boards, and recycling usable lumber from mats ready for disposal. This strategic approach not only increases mat lifespan but also significantly reduces lumber waste, contributing to a substantial reduction in our carbon footprint by minimizing landfill waste.
Once a mat has reached the end of its usable life cycle and is no longer functional, part of our full-service operations includes providing options for disposing of them. We have two environmentally friendly and cost-effective solutions to ensure the safe and responsible disposal of mats.
Option 1: Air burner
The air burner is a self-contained, portable unit with a refractory-lined burn container, reducing transportation costs for mats and debris. The removed ash waste can be utilized in organic fertilizer applications.
Using air curtain technology, the air burners remove a majority of the particulate (smoke) created by burning. This makes the air burner a responsible option for disposing of matting, site debris, and brush.
Option 2: Grinding
Our high-production, portable grinding services can process up to 200 mats daily, generating wood chips for reuse, recycling, or use as fuel in cogeneration facilities.
Utilizing a three-stage grinding process allows for the quick disposal of mats and debris on-site, resulting in reduced emissions and transportation costs.
In addition, the multiple grate system allows for various size wood chips to be produced. In some cases, these wood chips can be sold to other industries that use them as cover or mulch.
