Despite the fact that our workforce is busy all year providing access mats and bridge rentals and sales across the country, at Northern Mat & Bridge, we still find the time to focus on employee engagement and satisfaction for all our team members. To help celebrate the holidays and our hard working team members, we got festive during our annual Christmas Week Extravaganza.
Monday December 18th, Corporate Headquarters in Grande Prairie Alberta had there first ever interoffice Bake-Off. All employees were able to vote on their favorite sweet dish. Sherri Mahar, one of our Accounts Receivable team members was the lucky winner with her Oreo Truffles! Furthermore, on this date NMB’s annual Christmas Hamper Drive was finished and items delivered to the local Salvation Army in Grande Prairie. Non-perishable food items, toys and cash were donated by the amazing and generous employees of Northern Mat & Bridge.
Tuesday December 19th was Northern Mat & Bridge’s annual company-wide Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest. There were great entries from across the country with everyone celebrating their Christmas spirit, rocking home-made and purchased ugly Christmas sweaters. Nick Shukin from our Creston, BC access mat manufacturing facility was our top finisher. Sharalynn McCafferty, our Payroll Administrator from Grande Prairie Corporate Headquarters received the second highest amount of votes. And Sue Peterson from our Orangeville Ontario office received the most votes for our eastern operations!
Wednesday December 20th was Corporate Headquarters annual Christmas Pot-luck. Employees brought in their favorite dishes. This years pot-luck was extra special as Sutco Transportation Specialists treated the entire office to Pizza as a main course. Everything was enjoyed by all, and was more than needed. So Brenda Fraser, Transportation Admin, suggested we donate the abundance of left-overs to the Rotary House in Grande Prairie. They were ever so delighted to receive this gift.
Thursday December 21st was Northern Mat & Bridge’s annual decorate your office or work space competition. Offices, Cubicles, you name it, was decorated to celebrate everyone’s Christmas spirit. Corporate Headquarters Admin Team dominated the contest as Tasha Pinch received first place with her Candy Land Village, Sheila Calliou received second place with her take on the Peanuts Christmas, and Sharalynn received third with her festive display including multiple snowman made out of boxes.
Friday December 22nd was Corporate Headquarters first ever Pancake Bunch! Tasha Pinsch, came up with the idea that was quickly adapted by everyone to celebrate the last day of work before the holidays. Fun was had by all!
While providing access solutions such as matting, bridges, winter roads and snowmaking, all over Canada is our top priority, we and Northern Mat & Bridge know it is important to unwind, have a little fun, and also give to those in need. It’s the Northern Mat & Bridge way. Tis’ the season.
